A Black and Yellow Argiope Spider
A Black and Yellow Argiope Spider that I fond up to my sisters house in Cortland NY. I have seen this spider all over the place hear in New York State and Pennsylvania this time of year, They are quit numerous now. I thought that I would post this fella today and dedicate it to my friend Laurie from Australia who had a dream recently with a large spider in it. This one is not comparable to his but it is large enough. Laurie runs a couple of well put together, wonderful blogs on his surrounding area and such. He is also a great story teller that works out of his writers room that I enjoy very much and follow. If anyone is interested about his work, laurie27wsmith.wordpress.com “I love his kangaroos shoots that he gets off his front porch too”.
He just got this grasshopper as I was taking these pictures. The grasshopper is about a inch and a half long for a size perspective.
pretty spider!!

Don’t like spiders, but the photography is great!
Beautiful!!!
Awesome!
Such a beautiful spider…However, I am glad it is inside the computer and not on my keyboard. 😉
I’m so glad to know what this spider is! I have seen two in my yard all summer. Thank you for choosing to follow my blog. Blessings, Natalie 🙂
A confirmed arachnophobe, I am so sorry I stopped over before bed!! I have a history of scary spider dreams!! But, great pics!!
We have a similar spider in England Argiope Brunichii, at least I think that’s how you spell it. It is called a wasp spider and creates a really distinctive zig zag down the middle of its web
What a striking pattern on this spider.
I had a very similar spider an Agave in my backyard….I believe it was a ‘silver garden spider’ (Argiope argentata).
