Another new bird for me, this one is from Colorado. A Male Broad-tailed Hummingbird I stumbled across at the Denver Botanic Garden. It is very similar to our eastern Ruby-throated Hummingbird. The only major difference is that the Broad-tail has a pink breast plate and the ruby-throat has a red one.
A Male Northern Parula Warbler I found up to the family this past weekend. I've never seen one of these birds before this particular outing.
Last Weekend I had the opportunity to go Colorado for a wedding in Denver. I took the opportunity to run down to Colorado Springs to see Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods as a side venture. These images are from the Garden of the Gods that are natural rock formations. The park there had many beautiful walking trails and pull off areas for vehicles for admirers. Pikes Peak can be seen in one of the images looming in the distance background as a snow covered mountain.
