6 A Song Sparrow that has bean hanging around in the back yard the last couple of days. Starting to see some of the migrants coming through the last week or so. Today, I saw this Song Sparrow, An Eastern Phoebe, American Robins and a House Finch. I Also solved my camera issue, I replaced it with another Cannon 70D body I got on Ebay. Getting the shots that I like now

Two Wood Ducks I found swimming in the little Choconut Creek at the water shed on site 2 area. The ducks were definitely camera shy and stayed away from me. The little Choconut Creek has four watersheds on it that help protect Johnson City and Binghamton from flooding. Site 2 is the most popular one of the sheds for nature buffs to hike and fish. It also has a dedicated Dog Park area as well. At one time in the distant past the area was my family’s Farm property. The farm was called Pine Grove. I do believe it was one of the largest and one of many that supported the Pine Grove dairy industry around here at that time. The barn burned down in the winter of 1976 and a small Baptist Church sits where it used to be. It brings back a lot of fond memories of me haying the fields, driving the tractors, running the equipment and just growing up around the farm.

Some recent shots that I have taken over the last few weeks. The first is taken at Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge near Seneca Falls New York. I caught a quick glimpse of this Tundra Swan before he took off and disappeared over the horizon. He makes the Canada Geese look small to him in comparison. All of the next few images are from a local park called Otsiningo Park on Binghamton's North side. Hope you enjoy these.

This lovely Pond has five weeping willow trees around it and as the summer comes forth they really make a nice beautiful place to take pictures near. It is a quite special little place.

One of the main paved paths in the park that parallels the Chenango River. You can usually find quite a few people out walking or jogging on it at any given time of day. I had to wait for this shot a few minutes for the people to clear the far corner to get an empty background without people.

A Red Fox that I saw on one occasion along the river's edge but unfortunately he was one of the winter's casualties here this year. After the shot was taken he was captured, I found out later, and euthanized. He was found to have the rabies infection that affects the animal's nervous system and will eventually kill him on his own. He did look to be in bad shape and to see one that close is unusual around here. The next shot shows him a little more and the condition he was in, poor thing. His tail had almost no hair on it and he could not really open his eyes at all. He passed about some 40 feet in front of me, or so, at that point before disappearing in the next line of thickets and shrub trees.

Today's post is of these lovely roses I took pictures of about a year ago. They are from the Maplewood Rose Garden in Rochester New York. I had originally intended last March in making a post that would dedicate Rose images to individuals but then sort of strayed away from that and have revisited this post in another form. I just want to say thank you to all my lovely followers, new and old, you are all as beautiful as these flowers are. Thank you so much, I love you all, MT

A Honey Bee enjoying the first nectar of spring last year. That was March 16th of last. Not like this spring but we are close after the snow melts away. The Bee is on a Crocus Flower that come up in our yard every spring since we've bean here. They started this spring but they've bean under 3 feet of snow since last week but it is melting off. Well, enjoy these shots from last year blooms.

4 An American Robin that was in the back yard last year. Over the last couple weeks I have seen one or two there and maybe a few here. They are starting to come back.

A female Eastern Black Swallowtail Butterfly that I took an image of last year at the family farm in that back field. She is feeding on a Red Clover plant.

9 A Blue-gray Gnatcatcher that I saw last year in the Hudson Valley region of New York State. It was the first time I've ever seen one and I would love to have the opportunity to see one again.
5 I saw this small group of Northern Pintails passing through are area a couple weeks ago near Whitney Point NY. I All ways wished that I could find them in my area nesting or something here. Maybe some day.
