A Cardinal Flower that I found growing on an island in the middle of the Susquehanna River just out side of Johnson City NY. I think I might-of seen six or seven of these beautiful plants in different areas along the river between Binghamton and Endicott NY all of last year. I always seem to find a single plant in an area at a time. It is very essay to find along the shores with that bright red coloration it has. No other plant along the river has it’s red coloration flowers at all. The Book says that it is primarily a western species of plant. That mite explain why I can only find a handful of them at a time in a large area.
