This fell-a is another new bird for me. I have never seen one until a couple weeks ago. He is a Red-breasted Merganser and has bean hanging out in the open waters of the Chenango River in Binghamton NY just below the rock-bottom dame by the old Crowley's Dairy Plant. The water is fast moving there and has not frozen over at all over the winter. They are not a bird that stays in this area so he must be passing through for now. I know they summer more north of my location in the Great Lake and beyond. The winter to the south of me. He has bean hanging out with some female Common Mergansers and the large group Mallard duck that are in the same area. I first saw him on the 25th of last month and several time up until yesterday. I did not go out day! This is the first images I have of him from the 25th.
